Thursday, April 9, 2020 – Holy Thursday and the Sacred Paschal Triduum
6:15am through 8am: The Liturgical celebration of Tenebrae (a special combination of Matins and Lauds for the Triduum) celebrated by the Benedictine Monks of Le Barroux Abbey in France.
8am: Join in the broadcast of the Chrism Mass from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, with the Most Rev. Nelson Perez. This Chrism Mass was celebrated earlier this week on Monday evening, April 6, 2020.
10:00 am through 11:00 am EDT: Learn from Bishop Daniel Conlon about the Second Vatican Council's teaching on the Priesthood from Presbyterorum Ordinis in the WAOB program The Motherly Arms of the Church.
11:00 am EDT: The Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary
11:45 am EDT: Learn about Saint Gaetano Catanoso and his great Eucharistic Piety in the program The Hands of God.
12:00 (Noon) through 12:30 pm EDT: A delayed broadcast of the Most Rev. Lawrence Persico's Chrism Mass homily recorded on Monday of Holy Week 2020 and followed by the Diocese of Cleveland's Chrism Mass Homily from Bishop Martin Amos, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Davenport, IA, that was recorded on Tuesday of Holy Week 2020.
4:02 through 5:00 PM EDT: WAOB®’s Teaching of the Apostles® program will feature the general audience message given by Pope Francis on April 8, 2020 in Saint Peter’s Basilica. Immediately following the broadcast of the Holy Father’s message, Father Patrick Schultz, a priest of the Diocese of Cleveland, and Father Boniface Hicks, OSB, a priest of Saint Vincent Archabbey (Latrobe), reflect together on Pope Francis’s message.
5:00 pm through 5:30 pm EDT: Learn from Pope Francis about the Eucharist by listening to his Corpus Christi homily from 2019 in the program Saint Peter is Still Speaking.
5:31 pm through 5:50 pm EDT: Please tune in to listen to the Archdiocese of Portland's Chrism Mass homily, given by the Most Rev. Alexander Sample, recorded earlier today.
6:00 PM through 6:55 pm EDT: Please join us in meditating upon the chants proper to this evening’s Mass of the Lord’s Supper. Father Nick Vaskov, a priest of the Diocese of Pittsburgh will lead us in meditations as we listen to the Proper and Ordinary chants of the Mass.
7:00 PM through 8:30 pm EDT: Join in this delayed broadcast of the celebration of the Mass of the Lord's Supper, on Holy Thursday of the Sacred Paschal Triduum (2020). His Holiness, Pope Francis, presides over this Mass celebrated at St. Peter's Basilica, in the Vatican.
8:30 PM through 11:30 PM EDT: Please tune in to We Are One Body®'s Drawing Life-Giving Water from Jacob’s Well® program. In these broadcasts, various priests lead the listeners through meditating upon the Holy Triduum scriptures.
